WHEELING - If you want to add a new look to your porch, doorway or window, you can do so by installing new awnings that also will reduce your air conditioning costs.

"Not only do these look nice, but they can cut your air conditioning costs by up to 40 percent," said Lisa Martin, owner/operator of Wheeling Canvas Products in the Fulton section of Wheeling. "They can also help reduce the risk of skin cancer."

Family owned and operated in Wheeling since 1965, Martin now runs the business with her husband, Shawn Martin, at 255 Fulton St.

"We make custom canvas, vinyl and aluminum awnings for businesses and residences," she said. "We do the design, manufacturing and installation."

Martin said her business has been getting a lot of calls recently from other businesses that want to have their awnings installed as soon as possible. She said this is normal for this time of year. "We have a winter storage service, so we keep your awning safe in the winter when you don't need it. Then, we will come to install it in the spring."

The business also installs spray foam insulation for the winter months, prompting Martin to say, "We can keep you cool in the summer and keep you warm in the winter."

Martin said her business works all over the Upper Ohio Valley. For more information, call 304-232-2133.
