Elmer Grimm

GRIMM, Elmer Leroy, 78, of Wellsburg passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his residence.

Elmer was born on August 23, 1934, in Wellsburg, WV. He was the son of the late Lola Grimm.

Elmer served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church, Wellsburg, WV. Elmer worked as a mechanic on Coal Trucks, various construction jobs, and a custodian for many years at the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church. Many will remember Elmer for his faithfulness, great sense of humor and his wood working skills with building boats, cabinets and furniture.

In addition to his mother, Elmer was preceded in death by his an aunt, Edith Whitlatch and a cousin, Carolyn Beagle.

Elmer is survived by first cousins, Eugene Grimm and Rosemary (Clarence) Maloney, both of Wellsburg, WV Don Grimm of Arkansas, Nora "Pat" Cercone, of Akron, OH, Linda Flaherty of Beech Bottom, Tom Flaherty of Bethany, WV, and Charles Wolfe of Wellsburg, WV and several second cousins and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551 with the Reverend Kenneth Dight, dear friend and Navy mate, officiating.

Interment will follow with Military Honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
