Assaros Celebrate Silver

Lou and Melody Assaro of Clarksburg, formerly of Wheeling, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Tuesday, April 16.

The Wheeling natives were united in marriage April 16, 1988 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wheeling. The couple has moved 16 times in their 25 years together.

Melody Assaro is the daughter of Joyce Lee Nickerson of Wheeling and the late Ronald Melvin Nickerson. She now a homemaker.

Assaro is the son of Anthony Louis Assaro and Sandra Lee Assaro of Wheeling. Days after their wedding, he entered the Army as a regular Army officer, Military Police Corps. In 1996, he resigned his commission and started federal civil employment with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. He is now employed by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services with duty at the FBI, Criminal Justice Information Services Division, in Clarksburg.

They have two sons, Zachary Louis and Louis Scott, both of Clarksburg.

They celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Riviera Maya, Cancun, Mexico.
