STEUBENVILLE - Steubenville scored 12 runs over three at-bats to claim a nine-run victory against the Red Riders in a continuation of a rain suspended game from April 10, and then pounded out 15 runs on 15 hits to complete a sweep in a regularly scheduled game.

Brooke Carroll earned the Game 1 victory, striking out eight. Christina Archer carried the big bat for Big Red with a single, double, and grand slam, all over the final three frames. Lead off hitter Mallory Giannamore had a pair of doubles, and accounted for a quartet runs in the game.

Ashlyn Drizake had a two-run home run for the Lady Riders and Micah DiBacco sat down nine Big Red batters on strikes in the contest.

Archer struck again with a second inning, three-run, blast that made the score 11-1. She also added a single in her first at-bat of the frame. Giannamore, Mytia Barker, and Brittany Bodo each contributed a double and a single with Abby Taylor adding three singles.

Anna Perrino was the winning pitcher, striking out three over the full five.

Morgan Rice connected for a pair of doubles while Drizake and Meikka Buffo each had a pair of singles for the Red Riders.
