Richard Ritchea

RITCHEA, Richard Douglas "Rick," 61, of Shadyside, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

He was born on September 10, 1951, in Moundsville, West Virginia, a son of the late W. Richard and Marcella Wishtart Ritchea.

He graduated from the Linsly Military Institute and attended the University of Notre Dame.

Rick had a thirst for knowledge and was always well-versed in all aspects of society, politics and sports. He had a special affection towards sports and loved coaching his children, watching games with his son and analyzing his favorite teams.

Rick is survived by his wife of 37 years, Teresa Louise Massie Ritchea, whom he married on October 11, 1975, in Lansing, Ohio; son, Derek (Dava) Ritchea of New York City, New York, son, Dr. Bryon (Heather) Moore of St. Cloud, Florida and daughter, Lisa Moore (Andy) Parks of St. Cloud, Florida; his brother, Randy (Shery) Ritchea of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Also, his nephew, Chris Ritchea and family of Breckenridge, Colorado and his niece, Melissa (Bob) Bisesi of Port Orange, Florida; and his two grandchildren, Amelia and Oliver Moore.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio on Thursday 2 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joel Traylor officiating. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
