WHEELING - Buckeye Local will be looking to repeat Saturday afternoon when it meets Harrison Central for the OVAC Class 4A softball championship.

The No. 4 seed Panthers (8-10) advanced with a 7-5, semifinal triumph against top-seeded Martins Ferry (13-5) on Thursday evening on Lisa's Field, while Harrison Central survived, 4-3, against St. Clairsville earlier in the evening on Ben's Field.

Buckeye Local scored five runs in the fourth, highlighted by a home run by Kierstyn Czuchran. She was the only Panthers player to have more than one hit as she also singled and finished with two RBI.

Krissy Hotlosz singled and drove in two runs for the Purple Riders.
