LABERDEE, James Jacob, Sr., 53, of Wheeling, WV, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at his daughter, Kelly's home in Shenandoah, PA.
He was born October 25, 1959, in Stuttgart, Germany, the son of Jean Arnold Clark Laberdee of Red Bark, NJ, and the late Lawrence S. Laberdee, Sr.
James was a security officer at the Magna Security in Washington, PA.
He loved and enjoyed fishing and sports especially baseball and football. James loved going to Kennywood Park, where he was thrilled with the roller coaster rides and he loved driving trucks, which he did for over 14 years.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Laberdee.
In addition to his mother, he was survived by his loving wife, of 18 years Christine Marie McCulley Laberdee; and his children, Kelly Baker and her wife, Devon of Shenandoah, PA., Christian Abdou of Keansburg, NJ, James J. Laberdee, Jr. of Keansburg, NJ, Bernard J. "B.J." McCulley of West Finley, PA and Brandon M. Laberdee of West Finley, PA; four brothers, Jerry W. Laberdee, Lawrence S. Laberdee, Jr., Terance J. "T.J." Laberdee and Patrick Laberdee; and five grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311) where service will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Cindy Murphy officiating. Interment in Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, WV.
