CAUTHEN, Freddie, 85, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Friday, May 3, 2013, in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born on June 8, 1927, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of the late Effie Cauthen.
He retired from Wheeling Country Club, and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Wheeling. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Wheeling.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Cauthen, one brother, Roy C. Long (Ruth), three sisters-in-law, Lovie Brown, Norma Jean Jacob, and Joyce Woods, one brother- in-law, LaVerne Brown, and nephew, Bill Long.
He is survived by five daughters, Cynthia Woods and her husband, Rufus of Pickerington, Ohio, Alfreda Hairston of Columbus, Ohio, Effie Theresa Coles and her husband, David of Wheeling, Terri Lynn Goodwin and her husband, Larry "T.R." of Wheeling, and Shawn Donaldson of Wheeling; seven grandsons, Aaron Smith of Columbus, Frederick Woods and his wife, Amy of Columbus, Jamall Woods of Columbus, Larry Goodwin II of Wheeling, David Coles of Wheeling, Dominic Goodwin of Wheeling, and Shawn Donaldson and his wife, Elaine of Wheeling; one granddaughter, Danielle Goodwin of Wheeling; twelve great-grandchildren, Jazzlyn, Christian, Taryn, MacKenzie Jordan, Kaleigh, Ma'Rala, Joycelyn, Samantha, MyAngel Bryson, and Jayden ; one brother-in-law, Thomas Brown, one sister-in-law, Geraldine; two nieces, Delores Long and Sylvia Ruth; one nephew, Clinton "Buddy" Long ; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church, Wheeling with Rev. Dr. Melvin G. Rippy officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
