Emerald Delbrugge

DELBRUGGE, Emerald H. Jr., 69, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away at home on Sunday, May 5, 2013.

He was born September 9, 1943 in West Chatam, MA, a son of the late Emerald H. Sr. and Dorothy E. (McCutcheon) Delbrugge.

Em retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel La Belle Plant, Benwood, WV in 1997 after 34 years as a head nailer.

He served in the Army from 2-16-65 to 2-26-75, Co A 463rd Eng. BT 20 Corp charged to 99 Arcom-Bellaire, OH.

He married April 26, 1965, and had three children, Tina, Tammy and Jay.

He graduated from St. John's High School in Bellaire, OH in 1962 after attending grade school at St. Mary's in Martins Ferry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Patterson.

Surviving are his three children; Tina (Bill) Fedorko of Wheeling, WV, Tammy (Adam) Mitchell and Jay (Vickie) Delbrugge both of Colerain, OH; his brothers,; Mike (Joan) Delbrugge of Circleville, OH, and Jim (April) Delbrugge of Martins Ferry; five grandchildren, Chris Brown Jr., Nicole Brown, Rebekah Mitchell, Caitlyn Delbrugge and Jacob Mitchell; and two great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at the Martins Ferry Christian Church on Friday, May 10 at 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Martins Ferry Christian Grade School due to his love of children and his strong desire to not waste money. Online condolences may be expressed at
