FISCHER, Lawrence (Larry) William, 73, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013, at his home in Englewood, FL, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 7, 1940, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late William and Lenora Fischer.

Larry worked as an over the road truck driver for 40 years with many awards for safe driving. He was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran, and was Lutheran by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Donald Fischer, and a sister, Lenora Lasch.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Ann Petri Fischer; his children, Lawrence C. Fischer and his wife, Linda of Morgantown, WV, Carrie Sue Roach and her husband, Michael of Carrollton, OH, Sherry Ann Blanchard and her husband, Craig of Englewood, FL, and Gwen Bertok and her husband, Eric of Millbury, OH; grandchildren, Ashley Deberry, Amanda Fischer, Brice Blanchard, Brandon Roach, Christopher Blanchard, Craig Blanchard, Fischer Bertok, and Hannah Bertok; great-grandchildren, Daylen Deberry, Delaney Deberry, Heidi Blanchard and Zaiden Blanchard. Also surviving are a sister, Frances Fischer Braden and many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry enjoyed camping, swimming, golfing, and dancing with his family and friends. He was known for his love of life and his family. He will be greatly loved and missed by all who knew him.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling (304- 242-2311), where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 with Reverend R. Paul Schafer officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
