Reverend Dr. Linda Merle

GLASS, Reverend Dr. Linda Merle, 67, of Wheeling, WV, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at her home.

She was born April 2, 1946, in Lynchburg, VA the daughter of Helen Ramsey Glass of Forest, VA and the late Charles William Glass.

Reverend Dr. Linda Glass was an Ordained United Methodist Clergywoman, having pastored Arcola United Methodist Church in Northen, VA; St. Marks United Methodist Church in The Plains, VA; Suncrest United Methodist in Morgantown, WV; Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Wheeling and retired to Christ United Methodist Church, Wheeling and retired pastor at Ruble United Methodist Church, Wheeling.

Dr. Glass did her undergraduate with a BA from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA; a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C; studied at Oxford and completed her Doctorate at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.

She was past board member at the Health Right; past board member of Directors of House of Carpenter and past board member of Ohio Valley Interfaith Caregiver (now Faith in Acton Caregiver); She was a volunteer reader for 10 years at Sherrard Elementary School.

Pastor Linda was an extraordinary person who touched more lives than can be counted, revealed God's love in all her living, and welcomed all who sought to know the Lord into His presence. She is the model of faith and courage and the world is better place for her passing by this way.

In addition to her mother she was survived by her husband, Reverend Dr. Douglas Liston; children; grandchildren; brothers and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Christ United Methodist Church, 1232 National Road, Wheeling where services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. Timothy J. Allen and the Reverend David E. Erenrich officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Glass-Liston Scholarship fund, 24 America Ave, Wheeling, WV 26003.
