Kermit Carney

CARNEY, Kermit W., age 84, of Lindsay Lane Road, Moundsville, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

He was born July 16, 1928, in Marshall County, the son of the late Muriel and Flossie Roberts Carney.

He was a retired truck driver, having worked for Marx Toy Company until its closing; a member of the Ash Avenue Church of God and F.O. Eagles #499; and a U.S. Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Carney.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy Ryan Carney; a son, David (Donna) Carney; a daughter, Donna (Perry) Porterfield, all of Florida; three grandchildren, Eric Porterfield, Mirranda (George) Mandra, all of Florida, Heather Hatton of Cincinnati, OH; two great-grandchildren, Zane and Zyler Hatton; and a brother, Frank (Patty) Carney of Moundsville.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Mounds-ville, with Pastor Scott Haynes officiating.

Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville where the Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services.
