MOUNDSVILLE - The Marshall County Sheriff's Department is searching for an individual who failed to return to the Northern Regional Jail after being out on a work release program.

Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Cecil said Derek W. Midcap, 32, was being held in the jail on a conviction for burglary and grand larceny. He was permitted to leave the facility on a work release program, but did not report back to the jail Thursday.

Midcap is described as a 5 foot 8 inch, 180 pound white male with blue eyes and brown hair. He also has a tattoo of his son on his upper right shoulder. Cecil said following his failure to return to jail, a bench warrant was issued for Midcap's arrest.
