NASSIF, George Melvin, 70, of Wheeling, WV, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.
He was born December 30 1942, in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Thomas Joseph and Sara Jane Nelson Nassif.
Mr. Nassif retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as a leader on the Furnace working at the Benwood Plant and later at the Martins Ferry Plant. He graduated from the McKinley Vocational School, was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling and was a U.S. Marine Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas N. Nassif and a sister, Emma Jean Hackathorn.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Rose Ann Pentino Nassif; children, Debra "Deb" Raleigh- Murphy, Lynn Raleigh-Tellez and her husband, Michael, George T. Nassif and Cheryl Nassif-Marshall; a brother, Thomas Nassif and his wife, Bonnie; a sister, Jane Seese; grandchildren, Jason and Nicole Harris, Jerry Marshall, Joshua and Zoila Saunders, Jessica and Mark Flaharty, Savannah and David Beebe and Zachary Nassif; great- grandchildren, Sarina Ilyonah Zoe Saunders, Bella and Zachary Marshall, Ava Flaharty and Baily Nassif.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St.,Wheeling (304- 242-2311) with The Reverend Gary Naegele officiating.
Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct military services.
