Trauberts Hit 50 Years

Dr. John W. and Nancy Traubert of Topsail Beach, N.C., formerly of Wellsburg, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 22.

They were united in marriage June 22, 1963 at St. John Newman Center on The Ohio State University campus by the Rev. Richard Dahl.

Nancy Traubert is the daughter of the late Melvin H. and Helen B. Bigler of New Philadelphia. She completed training in registered nursing at Massilon City Hospital and received Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from The Ohio State University. She served as a faculty member at West Liberty State College School of Nursing and later as a psychiatric nurse at Valley Community Mental Health, Morgantown.

Traubert is the son of the late John F. and Ellen L. Traubert of Wellsburg. He is a graduate of West Virginia University and received a Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University. He practiced medicine in Wellsburg and served as the Brooke County coroner and health commissioner. They then moved to Morgantown where he became chairman of the Department of Family Medicine of West Virginia University School of Medicine and later served as associate dean of student and curricular affairs of the School of Medicine.

They are the parents of four children. The family includes Jean Anne Traubert Bridges and her husband, Tom; John P.; Steven M. and David W. and his wife, Julie. They have 10 grandchildren.

They celebrated their anniversary with a family reception and dinner at Canaan Valley Resort, Davis W.Va. The celebration was a part of the Traubert family reunion. Attending were their four children and their families and Traubert's sisters and their families. Also attending were Nancy Traubert's brothers and their families.
