RAMSAY, Willard F., 84, of Key, Ohio, passed away on August 7, 2013 surrounded by his family at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born in Jacobsburg, Ohio on September 6, 1928, son of the late Forest and Ruth Haught Ramsay.
Willard was retired from Columbia Gas of West Virginia. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran serving proudly from 1946 until he was honorably discharged in 1951; a member of Shadyside American Legion Post 521; and a member of the Hillview Terrace Church of Christ in Moundsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Willard Ramsay; and two sisters, Mildred Evans and Lenora Baker.
Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Jean Foster Ramsay; two sons, Dan (Jo Lee) Ramsay of Bellaire, and Jerry (Cindy) Ramsay of Van Wert, Ohio; a daughter, Tammy (George) Gruber of Wheeling, West Virginia; nine grandchildren, Mark (Carrie) Ramsay, Krista (Ryan) Ruthers, Andrew Ramsay, Megan (Terry) McKinney, Allison Ramsay, Sam Karrasch, Ben Gruber, Mandy Blakely and Missy Long; two sisters, Helen Pollock of Canton, Ohio and Emmeretta McDonough of Key, Ohio; a brother, Paul Ramsay of Shadyside, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren, Bryce, Bradie, Tate, Ellie, Hannah, Logan, Gavin and Kylie.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Gene West officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery, Centerville, Ohio.
Belmont County Council of American Legions will conduct Full Military Honors on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
The family would like to give special thanks to the 3rd floor oncology nursing staff at OVMC.
