BECK, Ray L., 83, of Uniontown died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his home. He was born April 5, 1930 in Follansbee, West Virginia, son of the late Clyde Nathan Beck and Minnie Atzenhofer Beck.
Ray was a retired employee from the former East Ohio Gas Company and former employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was a 1948 graduate of Smith Rural High School in Centerville; a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War; a member of the VFW Post 5356 in St. Clairsville; a member of the Flushing American Legion Post 366; and Ray was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Arlene Parker Beck; two brothers, Carl and Charles Beck; and a sister, Nelda Hubert.
Surviving are his son, Chris L. Beck of Flushing; two daughters, Lisa R. (Perry) Howell of Jackson, Ohio and Beth Ann (Tex) Miller of St.Clairsville; a sister, Faye Riddle of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Melissa Regis, Chris Beck Jr., Emily Marshall, Marisa Vetula, Ryan Vetula, Brandon Miller, Justin Miller and Michaela Miller; three great-grandchildren, Zach Beck, Zayne Wallace and Chloe Beck; and a special friend, Pauline Koshenka.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St.Clairsville on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Entombment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Pleasant Grove.
Full Military Honors will be conducted on Wednesday at 10 a.m. by the Belmont County VFW Honor Guard.
