SCHLAG, Daniel Joseph, 61, of Madisonville, KY, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at home.
He was born September 24, 1951, in Wheeling, WV, a son of Mary Catherine Gribben-Schlag of Moundsville and the late George W. Schlag.
He was a retired employee of Wheeling Machine Products; a Catholic by faith, and a 1969 graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, George C. Schlag.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Pamela S. Smith of Madisonville; his step-mother, Dolores Ritchie-Schlag of Wheeling; a daughter, Jody Wharry of Bellaire, OH; a grandson, Jacob Wharry; a brother, Dennis W. (Elaine) Schlag of Henderson, TN; two sisters, Virginia M. (David) Cope of Towanda, KS and Anne C. (John) Aalmo of Fish Creek, WV; several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a..m Saturday, August 31, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Moundsville, with Rev. Ranjan Ekka, TOR, as celebrant.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Historical Society.
