TRUBIANO, Amedea J., 92, of Benwood, WV, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at the Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center.
He was born March 26, 1922, in Benwood, WV, a son of the late Nicola and Rachael Epifano Trubiano.
Amedea was a graduate of Union High School, retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Benwood Plant, was a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen, the Garibaldi Lodge, American Legion Post 5, McMechen, DAV-McMechen and a Navy veteran of WWII.
Amadea's favorite pastimes were following the University of Alabama football team, watching and playing baseball and playing cards.
In addition to his parents, Amedea was preceded in death by his wife, of 55 years, Josephine Franks Trubiano in 2000; two brothers, Mario and Ugo Trubiano; and two sisters, Clara Scalbriano and Hilda Kazmirski.
Surviving are two sons, Joe Michael Trubiano and his wife Patricia of Wheeling, Jerry Trubiano of Columbus, OH; brother, Elmer Trubiano of Newark, OH; two granddaughters, Cheryl Trubiano Ames and her husband Jerry of Wheeling, Joselyn Trubiano Haller and her husband Kent of Newark, OH; three great-grandsons, Olen Joseph Ames, Jackson and Alexander Haller; and a great-granddaughter, Karsyn Marie Haller.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall St., McMechen, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen with Rev. Bekeh Utietiang as celebrant.
Vigil services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
American Legion Post #5 will conduct military honors at 6:30 p.m. Friday also in the funeral home
Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
