COYNE, Margaret "Toots" Brennan, 97, formerly of Wheeling, WV, and Bellaire, OH, died September 2, 2013, in the Regina Medical Center, Hastings, MN.
Margaret was born in Benwood, WV, on March 15, 1916, the daughter of the late Emma Nolan and Thomas Brennan.
She married Terence A. Coyne, an employee of the B&O Railroad, on May 20, 1942.
During WWII, he served in Naval Intelligence and at that time, Terence Coyne Jr. was born.
In September, 1947, Margaret and her family including twin boys, Tim and Tom, moved to Cincinnati. In 1958, she was employed by the University of Cincinnati and eventually became editor of the University Bulletin. She retired in 1974.
Her husband was employed by the U.S. Government in the State Department and the Internal Revenue Service, with time spent in Vietnam.
In 1974, the Coynes moved to their farm "Connemara," in Belmont County, Ohio, where they spent many wonderful years.
After the death of her husband in 2001, Margaret relocated to the Clara Welty Apartments, where she lived until 2010, when she moved to Minnesota to be near her son and his family.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her four brothers, Pat, Larry, Jack and Bill Brennan; one sister, Mary Frabell; four newborns; her husband of 59 years and sons, Tim and Tom.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Terence J. Coyne, his wife, Karen and their seven children, Christopher, Adam (Kristin), Courtney (Paul) Nowatzki, Nicholas (Crystal), Shannon (Peter) Horton, Alexander (Anna), Victoria; 10 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Rebecca, Daniel, Margaret, Catherine and John Coyne, Victor, Henry and Leo Nowatzki and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be offered by Msgr. George R. Coyne at Mount Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, September 7th at 11:15 a.m. with interment to follow.
