Searchers Praised For Locating Missing Man

September 15, 2013
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

Editor, News-Register:

On Sept. 3 my husband, George Singer, who has dementia, was missing for over five hours. The response from our community was overwhelming. I would like to thank the St. Clairsville Police Dept., Cumberland Trail Fire Dept., and the Belmont Co. Sheriff's Dept. for their quick action after they were notified. A coded alert was sent out by telephone and WTRF and WTOV were gracious in broadcasting an alert on the news.

I also wish to thank our pastor, church family, friends, children's friends, neighbors and all who searched and/or prayed for him that day. He was found by an officer as he was coming out of a wooded area. He has many scratches but is otherwise OK.

George, our children, family and I will be forever grateful for all of you. May God bless you.

Nancy Singer
