Roy Young

YOUNG, Roy "Cy" Sr., 84, of Bridgeport went to be with his wife, Rose, on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Liza's Place Valley Hospice South Wheeling, surrounded by his loving family. He was Born October 4, 1928, in Bridgeport, a son of the late Norman J. and Hilda M. (Stillwell) Young.

Cy was a retired employee of American Electric Power (Tidd/Cardinal Plants) with 43 years of service, a lifetime member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, Bridgeport, a long time member of Bridgeport High School Board of Education, and a member of the Bridgeport High School Alumni Hall of Fame, the Bridgeport Eagles, and the Martins Ferry Elks.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Mary (Krehlik) Young, in 2007, and a sister Hazel Marie Young.

Cy is survived by his son; Roy "Cy" (Valerie) Young Jr. of Westerville, Ohio; daughters Daryl Totterdale of Brookside, Diane Duncan and Debra (Ollen) Wamsley both of St. Clairsville, Dawn (George) Trouten of Wheeling, Dory Dunkle of Emerson, and Dana Finney of St. Clairsville; grandchildren Meagan and Meredith Totterdale, Alair Sokolowski, Jonathan Duncan, Shane, Mica, and Chelsea Wamsley, Gabrielle Trouten, Ajay and Kenzie Finney, Mallory and Taylor Young; great-grandchildren Jacob Cunningham, Camden and Cooper Sokolowski, and Avri Finney.

Friends will be received on Tuesday September 24, 2013, from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, and then on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, 200 Bennett St., Bridgeport, with Rev. David Demarest officiating, interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
