BARBOUR, Albert Sr, 91, formerly of Rayland, OH, died September 23, 2013, at Lancia Villa Vista in Steubenville, OH.
He was born on February 28, 1922, in McGovern, PA, to the late Harry and Helen (Crouch) Barbour.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Barbour and a son, Ron Barbour.
Albert was Methodist by faith, a WWII veteran 101st Airborne, Band of Brothers, retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, a member of the Masonic Lodge Chapter 174 Martins Ferry, Osiris Temple of Wheeling, Scottish Rite of Steubenville, A life-long member of the VFW in Yorkville, OH, a life-long member of the American Legion Post 159 in St Clairsville, OH and a former member of the DAV in Bellaire, OH.
Albert is survived by four sons, Albert Jr (Melissa) of Martins Ferry, OH; Drew (Sherry) of Martins Ferry, OH; Brad of Clearwater, Fla; and Scott of Largo, Fla; two brothers, Jim Barbour of Yorkville, OH and Harry Barbour of Steubenville, OH; a sister, Helen Louise McGlothen of Wheeling, WV; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Albert and celebrate his life on Thursday, September 26 from 3-8 at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, Ohio.
Full Military Services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars at 10:45 on Friday from the funeral home and funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Monogouidis officiating.
Entombment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH.
