Deter Hazing Among High School Students

A "hazing incident" among student-athletes at Brooke High School is being investigated, officials confirmed last week. There were reports three students had been suspended from team activities.

Physical hazing always is inappropriate. It can result in serious injuries, even death.

Brooke County Board of Education President Jim Piccirillo told our reporter the problem is being addressed. Disciplinary action may be taken.

No doubt it will be handled in proportion to the severity of the hazing. But to deter hazing in the future, some disciplinary action will be a necessity.
