SISTERSVILLE - The Sistersville General Hospital, in addition to being a place for helping patients heal from injuries and recover from illness, also has a fitness center, at 210 Charles St., for the purpose of maintaining good health.
The fitness center has been a part of the hospital for some time, and has easy-to-operate equipment that can give a full body workout in 30 minutes or less.
The four members of the fitness center staff are available to assist, at any time, with individual attention, to help provide a personalized exercise program to meet any need.
The fitness center at Sistersville General Hospital is a place where the whole family can not only slim down and tone up but help in feeling better.
Suzanne Heinlein, fitness center manager, said, "Our programs are designed especially for you by our trained staff of fitness instructors. The decision to make health and fitness part of your life is one of the wisest choices you could ever make. We have a wide variety of apparatus all in a friendly, clean, and healthy environment."
Among the apparatus are treadmills, StairMasters, a cross-aerobics machine, an XT20 cross-trainer bike, rowing machines, and upper body ergometers.
According to Heinlein, "The cross-aerobics machine and XT20 cross-trainer are excellent for those who have back and knee pain but still want to get a low-impact cardiovascular workout. We also have several different Cybex machines for weight-training various muscle groups."
The facility is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8 p.m. Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. One-month, three-month, six-month and yearly rates are available for singles, senior singles and senior family, family, and students.
"We have about 50 who come to the fitness center on a regular basis. Whether you want to slim down or tone up, have more energy for work or for your family, or just look and feel better-we're here to help," Heinlein concluded.
