James Van Scyoc

VAN SCYOC, James "Riley," 66, of Mounds-ville, WV, died Thursday, October 3, 2013, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV.

He was born September 6, 1947, in Glen Dale, WV, the son of the late Edward and Ruth Norris Van Scyoc.

He was a U.S. Marine Veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam; a retired employee from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Martins Ferry plant; a member of Earl Francis Post 3 American Legion, and Moundsville VFW Post 437.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sherry Workman Van Scyoc; two sons, Shane (Joy) Van Scyoc, and Chad (Kristin) Van Scyoc, all of Moundsville; six grandchildren, Coty, Kelcee, Shaylyn, Devan, Johnna, and Reagan Van Scyoc, all of Moundsville; three brothers, Roger (Carol) Van Scyoc of Fish Creek, Don (Judy) Van Scyoc of Washington Lands, and David (Gerry) Van Scyoc of Wadestown, WV; a sister, Betty (Jack) Carrington of Moundsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Mounds-ville, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mary Lou Adams officiating and the Moundsville Honor Guard conducting Military Services.

Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
