Donald Schlag

SCHLAG, Donald Joseph, in his 75th. year, of Wheeling, WV, went to Heaven on Saturday, October 5, 2013, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

He was born in Wheeling on October 26, 1938.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Eva Marie (Dailer) Schlag; his brother, William Thomas "Tommy" Schlag.

He is survived by one brother, Charles (Audrey) Schlag of Malvern, PA; two sisters, Sr. Eva Marie (Mary Evelyn) Schlag, C.S.J., and Elizabeth Ruth Nelson, both of Wheeling; 10 nieces and nephews; 16 grand-nieces and nephews, and six great-grand-nieces and nephews.

Donald was a lifelong member of St. Michael Parish, Wheeling, and a former client of WATCH.

Donald had a nature you could not help loving.

And a heart that was purer than gold.

And to those who knew him and loved him, his memory will never grow cold.

Family and friends will be received 1-4 p.m. Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the Bishop's Chapel in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, with Rev. John Beckley S.M. as celebrant.

Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
