BARNESVILLE - Monroe Central flexed its muscles early against Barnesville, opening up a 31-0 halftime lead, then tacked on two more touchdowns in the second half in cruising to a victory.

Seminoles quarterback Curtis Nixon amassed 234 yards on 10 carries, scoring on runs of 15, 80 and 50 yards.

Backfield mate Levi Brown had 91 yards and a 4-yard touchdown on seven carries. Monroe's second unit capped the scoring when freshman Jarrett Hooper swept in from 17 yards out.

Nixon added 106 yards on 5 of 9 passing, including two connections with Trey Duffy for 52 yards and a 43-yard touchdown pass to tight end Gavin Morton.

Led by senior Mikey Jones, Monroe limited Barnesville to 23 yards on 37 plays.

Daniel Brown led the Shamrocks with 38 yards on 18 carries.
