PARTIN, Mary A. Parsons Simpson, 96, of New Martinsville, WV, formerly of Washington Lands, Moundsville, WV, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
She was born September 21, 1917, in Marshall County, WV, the daughter of the late Lester and Jennie Gilbert Parsons.
She was a retired employee of the former Fostoria; a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, American Legion, VFW, and Eagles Auxiliaries; a former board member of Washington Lands Senior Citizens; former owner of Quiet Rest Campground in Washington Lands; and she enjoyed planting pine trees for the community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Filander Simpson; second husband, Eddie Partin; and a sister, Clara Colvin.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews including a niece, Doris Burkhart of Carrollton, OH; a great-niece, Cathy Greathouse, with whom she resided in New Martinsville; great-great nephews, James Littleton of Moundsville, and Anthony Littleton of New Martinsville; a great-great-niece, Michelle Luzader of Salem, WV; three step-daughters, Kay Rodney of Houston, TX, Linda Votaw of Ft. Worth, TX, and Betty Brandle of Spokane, WA; and several step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m.
Rosary Devotions recited Thursday at 6 p.m.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
