Dorothy Ferrell

FERRELL, Dorothy E. 88, of Proctor, WV, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV.

She was born August 3, 1925, in St. Joseph Settlement, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Evelyn Lewis Miller Sr.

She was an analyst for PPG and a substitute cook for Marshall County Schools, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Proctor, St. Joseph Women's Club, and former member of Marshall Co. Homemakers. She liked to bowl, decorate cakes and make candy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Ferrell; a daughter, Jill Michelle Ferrell; brother, Charles E. Miller Jr.; daughter-in-law, Laura Ferrell; brother-in-law, James Zombotti; and sister-in-law, Bernadine Miller.

Survivors include five sons, John (Penny Ritchey) Ferrell of St. Joe, Joe (Mary Young) Ferrell of St. Joe, Brent (Donna) Ferrell of Proctor, Keith (Kristy) Ferrell of St. Joe, and Scott Ferrell of Seattle, Washington; three daughters, Barbara E. Ferrell and Marilyn Kay (Larry) Miller, both of St. Joe, and Carol Sue (David) Fialkowski of Seminole, FL; two brothers, Robert Miller of Moundsville, WV and John B. (Lorna) Miller of St. Joe; one sister, Dolores Zombotti of St. Joe; sister-in-law, Glenda Miller of St. Joe; 14 grandchildren, Carly Fialkowski, Davianne Fialkowski, Dennis (Kimmie) Miller, Bill (Alison) Ferrell, Lisa Ferrell, Amanda (Brad) Blake, Rebecca (David) Bennett, Melissa Ferrell, Adam (Fiance) Brittany Loy) Ferrell, Allison (Fiance) Andrew Anderson Ferrell, Michael (Fiance) Rebeca Galdon) Neisser, Sabrina (Nathan) Smith, Christopher (Nicole) Ferrell, Jessica (Fiance) Jimmy Greathouse) Ferrell; six great-grandchildren, Boden and Coleby Blake, Grace Mae Miller, Leah Ferrell, Troy Alexander Smith and Mason Glenn Smith.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third St., New Martinsville, with vigil services at 7 p.m.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Proctor with Fr. James LaCrosse as celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
