By FRED CONNORS , The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

Wheeling police arrested Christopher Lee Howard, 39, of 204 Jones St., Wheeling, on Tuesday for prescription medicine fraud.

According to court documents, an employee of The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, 620 National Road, called police at 4 p.m. Tuesday and reported she had received a telephone request for a prescription of Subutex 63 CT for Howard.

The caller said she was an employee of a physician. Subutex 63 CT is a Schedule III drug.

The pharmacy employee said she called the physician's office to confirm the prescription. The physician told her he had not seen or prescribed medicine for Howard since May. Officers arrested Howard in the pharmacy when he attempted to pick up the prescription.
