PORTER, Norma Jane Whorton, 75, of Wheeling, WV, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, in the Cumberland Point Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, OH.

She was born June 10, 1938, in Wheeling, WV the daughter of the late Irvin and Jessie Davis Whorton.

She worked for Marx Toys in Glen Dale, WV, until their closing and then she retired as a press operator from Uwanta Linen. She was a member of the Short Creek United Methodist Church, Short Creek, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James (Steven) Porter; a sister, Anna Jean Snyder; a son-in-law, Arthur W. Lough, Sr.

Surviving are a son, James E. (Crow) Whorton, Sr. and his wife, Lana; two daughters, Pamela S. Lough and Sonja J. Porter all of Wheeling; a sister, Eleanor Smith and her husband, Luther, Jr of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Jessica, Asher, Elizabeth, Joshua, Stephany and Samanthia; four great- grandchildren, Montana, Nicholas, Ian and Gabriel.

Friends will be received on Sunday, November 10, 2013, from noon- 3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave, 304-277-2722) where services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Ray Klages officiating.

Interment in Short Creek Cemetery, Short Creek, WV.
