Wanda Bidka

BIDKA, Wanda Josephine Bargiel, 82, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Liza's Place.

She was born August 15, 1931, in Wheeling, a daughter to the late Joseph and Josephine (Franczak) Bargiel.

Wanda attended Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Mt. Olivet, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Chamber's YMCA and Catholic Daughters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Carl M. Bidka, who died January 27, 1998; five brothers, Stanley, Alex, Michael, Theodore, and Joseph Klamut; and four sisters, Amelia Pagot, Frances Bargiel, Anna Bargiel, and Josephine Spencer.

She is survived by four children, Luann (James) Rieck of Wheeling, Joseph (Kelley) Bidka of Moundsville, W.Va., Cathy (Wiley) Dawson of Benwood, W.Va., and Christopher (Jennifer) Bidka of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; two granddaughters, Beatrice Dawson and Kayla Moore; one sister, Phyllis Bargiel Allen of Wheeling; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Monday, November 11, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, with Rev. Dennis Schuelkens Jr. as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
