By FRED CONNORS - Senior Staff Writer , The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

Wheeling Township Trustee Christopher Walisiak is scheduled to appear in Belmont County Western Division Court at 1 p.m. Thursday to answer multiple charges as the result of his arrest Thursday.

Belmont County Sheriff's deputies arrested Walisiak, 20, of 46411 Crabapple Road., St. Clairsville, for possession of marijuana, reckless operation, no operator's license, fictitious registration and a seat belt violation. He was released after posting $1,120 bond.

He is scheduled to appear before Judge Eric Costine.

Walisiak became Ohio's youngest township trustee in November 2011 after getting 360 votes representing 64.29 per cent of the vote.

In February of 2011, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's campaign tapped him to coordinate its efforts in Belmont County.

Walisiak could not be reached for comment about his arrest.
