DiCLEMENTE, Robert Mario, Sr., 86, of Wheeling passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Peterson Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 26, 1927, son of the late Pretoria and Michele DiClemente.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George DiClemente.
Bob retired from Wheeling Power Company. He was a member and former Elder of First Presbyterian Church, former member of Wheeling Lodge No. 28, B.P.O. Elks, and held numerous chairmanships and participated in the Elks Minstrels as an end man for many years. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a dedicated and faithful booster of Wheeling High School and held office as secretary for 20 years for Wheeling High Boosters Club. He was on chain crew at football games for over 52 years which included Wheeling Park High School and was honored in 1991 at the Wheeling Park vs. Fairmont football game. Bob was also a long-time fan of sports, especially WVU.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Sarah Jean (Sanzeri) DiClemente; two sisters, Lil Chontos and Joan Joanou and her husband, Frank, both of Wheeling; two sons, Robert, Jr. of Wheeling, and David of Cincinnati, OH; a sister-in-law, Clara DiClemente; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, December 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311).
A service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1307 Chapline Street, Wheeling. Rev. J. Robert Willits will be officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery chapel.
