She was born July 30, 1923, in Everson, WV, a daughter of the late Domenick and Alice Bombardiere.

Ellen was a retired employee of Reynolds Memorial Hospital and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Moundsville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose greatest joy was caring for her family. Her selfless devotion and unceasing support will never be forgotten by those who loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Curia; a son, Frank Curia; a grandson, John D. Curia; and four siblings.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews, including Susan Reid, Bob and Diane Bombard and Alice Rae McDougal.

Ellen was an avid Pirate, Mountaineer, Fighting Irish and Wheeling Nailers fan. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, embroidering and word search puzzles. Picnics and vacations at the beach were treasured family times. Family and friends devoured her pepperoni rolls, spaghetti and meatballs, and Easter bread. She was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren, attending sporting events, dance recitals, cheering competitions and band and choral concerts. All who knew her were touched by her kindness and beautiful smile.

The family extends deep appreciation and thanks to special helpers, Becky and Annie, aka "Ruth." Also, thanks to Kathleen Frome and the lab at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, for always treating our Mom with respect and kindness.
