WHEELING - The Wheeling Nailers received forward Carter Rowney from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday.
Rowney, 24, returns to the Nailers, after a three-game stint with Wilkes-Barre/Scr-anton. He began the 2013-14 campaign in Wheeling, where he is currently third on the team in scoring, having recorded six goals, seven assists, and 13 points in 15 games. The Sexsmith, AB, native picked up at least one point in four of his first five games with the Nailers, before exploding for his first career hat trick Nov. 8t in Fort Wayne.
Prior to being recalled to the Penguins, Rowney had accumulated points in three of his last four games with Wheeling.
Rowney is expected to be in the lineup for the Nailers tonight, when they continue their nine-game homestand against the Elmira Jackals at 7 p.m. Wheeling plays host to Florida on Friday (7 p.m.) and Sunday (3 p.m.).
