Roscoe Johnston

JOHNSTON, Roscoe F., 94 of Bellaire, Ohio died Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

He was born November 26, 1919 in St. Joe, Ohio a son of the late George I. and Nora Belle Luke Johnston.

Roscoe was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Martins Ferry Mill and a member of the Neffs American Legion Post 77. He was a US Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes A. Bonar Johnston on August 30, 2013; four brothers, Henry, Francis, Odis and Harley Johnston and three sisters, Iva Baker, Eva Hess and Virginia Johnston.

Surviving are his children, Sandy (Danny) Fijalkowski of Neffs, Ohio and Danny (Marilou) Johnston of Belmont, Ohio and one sister, Etta Jenkins of Moundsville, West Virginia.

Also five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Gary Jenkins of Moundsville, West Virginia.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff of the Heartland Lansing Nursing Home for their tender loving care of both Ross and Agnes.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. with Rev. Scott Haynes officiating. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio with Full Military Honors by the Moundsville Veteran's Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Neffs Fire Department & Emergency Squad P.O. Box 227 Neffs, Ohio 43940.
