BELLAIRE -Following eight ties and a myriad of lead changes through the first three quarters, Bellaire finally started to pull away from Edison early in the fourth quarter, then had to hang on for a hairy 66-65 victory in boys' basketball action Friday night.

Edison came all way back from a nine-point deficit with a little more than a minute left to get within one (66-65) on a Skylar Wilkin 3-pointer with 0.3 seconds remaining before the Big Reds' Wyatt Back was able to inbound the ball to Collin Kimbro to end the game.

''Thank goodness the clock ran out so we could take this one and go home,'' Bellaire coach J.R. Battista said.

Nathan Steele, led by four 3-pointers, finished with a game-best 21 points. Michael Neal had 17 and Tyler Ramsay recorded 16 for Bellaire.

Austin Hyndman, Storm Allese and Erik Lee scored 14, 13 and 12, respectively for the Wildcats (2-7). Wilkin finished with 10.

Bellaire was 15 of 18 from the free-throw line in the fourth.
