George Norton Villee
On Thursday, January 9, 2014, George Norton Villee, age 89, of Beaver, Pennsylvania, a loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver.
George was born on October 29, 1924, in Wheeling West Virginia, to the late Merle & Helen Villee. He was a member of the Four Mile Presbyterian Church having served as a Deacon. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and had a distinguished career in engineering and plant operations, primarily in the steel industry.
He was an active member of Rochester/Beaver Lions Club and Rochester BPOE No. 283.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennie Gherasin Villee and three daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Bill Craig of Allison Park, Pennsylvania, Linda and Dick West of Potomac, Maryland and Cathy and Ed Williamson of Alphretta, Georgia. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is survived by a sister and brother in law, Frances and Martin Blendermann of Silver Spring, Maryland and was preceded in death by a sister and brother in law, Maude and Paul Bougher.
The family received friends at William Murphy Funeral Home Inc., 349 Adams St., Rochester on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.
Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Brookside, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
