Officials believe a house fire on Olive Avenue that injured a man last week is "suspicious."

According to Detective William Whitelatch, the Moundsville Police Department has been meeting with the West Virginia State Fire Marshall and an investigative team to determine what caused the Jan. 10 fire. He said although the cause of the fire has not been determined, police are hoping to a get a report within the next week.

"We need the report back to proceed any further," Whitelatch said. "It's not our forte to call arson. We should have more information soon."
