Joseph Pagendarm

PAGENDARM, Joseph Francis, 72, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born February 9, 1941, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son to the late Clarence and Hilda (Yeager) Pagendarm.

He was retired from Wheeling Corrugating Company and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wheeling. He was a member of Faith in Action Caregivers and enjoyed farming.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Douglas Pagendarm.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia (Moore) Pagendarm; two sons, Joseph (Catherine) Pagendarm of Pine Bush, N.Y. and Edward (Cara) Pagendarm of Prairieville, La.; one brother, Clarence Pagendarm of Wheeling; one sister; Beatrice Marquart of Wheeling; and five grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Joey, and Matthew.

Friends will be received on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Naegele as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Parish School, 127 Key Ave, Wheeling, W.Va. 26003 and to Faith in Action Caregivers, 38 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.
