WOLFHURST - For the second time in a little more than a month, St. Clairsville gave Bridgeport all it wanted.
But, similar to their meeting just before Christmas, the Bulldogs showed their resolve and found a way, celebrating Senior Night in grand fashion by virtue of a 56-49 victory.
"This was a game between two good teams," Bridgeport coach Rob Zitzelsberger said. "We take it one step at a time and this was a big step for us because I thought we controlled the game."

The Bulldogs (17-0), who didn't substitute the entire game, once again received strong production from their 'Big 3' of sophomore Caitlyn Kroll, Nicole Smolenak and Maclaine Murad, who combined for 49 points.
Kroll led the way with 23 points. Smolenak finished with 15 and Murad added 11.
Bridgeport didn't trail after the first quarter. St. Clairsville (11-6) hung around much of the night. The Red Devils trailed, 42-37, after third quarter and by as many as nine in the fourth with less than a minute to go.
However, St. C. wouldn't go away quietly. Carlee Gillespie drilled a 3-pointer and after a Bridgeport turnover, sophomore Anna DeFilippo was all net, making it a three-point game with a shade under 30 seconds to go.
But, as they had all night long, the Bulldogs made the most of their trips to the foul line. Kroll and Smolenak each knocked down a pair of free throws. For the game, Bridgeport made 20 of 22 from the line.
The Red Devils were led by junior Alexis St. Clair. Before fouling out, St. Clair tallied 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Senior Brigee Mick knocked down four 3-pointers en route to 12 points.
