Wetzel Fire Declared Triple Homicide

January 21, 2014
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

HUNDRED -- Investigators with the West Virginia State Police and the State Fire Marshal's Office said preliminary evidence shows the fire that killed three people at a secluded Wetzel County home last week was a triple homicide.

According to State Police Sgt. J.E. Shriver, residents Carmen and Michael McDougal died in the fire that completely destroyed their home on Cliff Run Road, just outside the community of Littleton. Investigators believe the third victim is Jimmy Kisner, 48, of Aleppo Township, Pa., whom Shriver believes was an acquaintance of the McDougals.

Officials base Kisner's identification on the word of family and friends, but the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office is awaiting medical records to make a final determination. A final autopsy report on all the victims, detailing causes of death, may take several weeks to complete.
