Abortion Backers The Real Extremists

January 24, 2014
The Intelligencer , The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

Democrat Party leaders in Ohio said Wednesday they will make "women's health issues" one of their top priorities in election campaigns this year. Ed FitzGerald, the Democrat candidate for governor, accused Gov. John Kasich and Republican legislators of undertaking "extreme proposals" to limit abortions.

So that is what "women's health" is, in the minds of leading Ohio Democrats - unfettered access to abortions.

What of those "extreme proposals"? Among the most controversial, condemned roundly by Planned Parenthood, is the new informed consent law. It requires that before abortions, women be informed if their fetuses' hearts have started beating. It also stipulates that women considering abortions be told of the statistical probability of bringing their fetuses to term.

That's all. The law merely insists that women be given information before they allow organizations such as Planned Parenthood to abort their babies. How is that "extreme"? How is having that information detrimental to a woman's health?

Extremism is present in the debate over abortion - on the side of those who want no limits at all placed on it.
