CALMBACHER, Walter P., 84, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Monday, February 10, 2014 at home.
He was born September 8, 1929, in Wheeling, a son to the late Walter and Lillian (Magers) Calmbacher.
He was Catholic by faith and retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie 344, the Cave Club, and the IOLA Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn V. (Gramlich) Calmbacher; and three brothers, Robert, Donald, and Richard Calmbacher.
He is survived by one daughter, Renee Clegg and her husband Jay of Warwood; one son, Walter Keith Calmbacher of Wheeling; two step-daughters, Cheryl (Don) Bauer of Wheeling, and Joyce Walton of Wheeling; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one cousin, Russell Calmbacher; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and companion, Sandy Armstrong.
Friends will be received on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Laurence Wrenn officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
