RUSKIN, Alan R., passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at Aultman Hospital surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness at the age of 68.
He was born August 13, 1945 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the eighth of nine children born to Karl and Kathryn (Crider) Ruskin Sr.
Alan proudly served his country in the United States Navy and served in the Viet Nam war. He was a member of the Louisville Eagles #2374, American Legion Post #548, Legion Color Guard and the Louisville VFW Post #7490.
He is survived by his son, Christopher (Melody) Ruskin of West Virginia; brothers, Jerry (Nancy) Ruskin of Brilliant, Ohio and Tom (Tammy) Ruskin of Louisville, Ohio, sister, Kathy McFarland of Zanesville, Ohio, grandson, Christopher and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, sisters, Carol Bumgarner, Kitty Kimble and Mary Delaney and brothers, Karl Jr., Donald and Ed, preceded Alan in death.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services are planned at this time.
Interment with full military honors will take place at a later date.
