SKATULA, Jerry, Jr., 66, of Walden Avenue, Tiltonsville, OH, died Friday, February 14, 2014 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH.
He was born September 10, 1947 in Martins Ferry, OH son of the late Jerry Skatula Sr. and Betty Kurtz Skatula Captor, of Rayland, OH.
Jerry was a member of the Tiltonsville United Methodist Church, DAV in Bellaire, VFW in Yorkville, American Legion in Martins Ferry, Indian Club of Tiltonsville. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry after 37 years of service.
Jerry served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in the 1st CAV Division as an infantryman in Vietnam.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Betty Skatula.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years Sandra West Skatula; a daughter, Kari A. (Hal) Biehl of Cheswick, Pa.; a granddaughter Samantha Skatula of Cheswick, Pa.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Jerry from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Full military honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of the V.F.W. Tuesday morning at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
