Catherine Savage

SAVAGE, Catherine Louise, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014, surrounded by family and caregivers.

Born on July 1, 1915, to Louis and Matilda Hartlieb in Greggsville, WV.

She graduated from West Liberty High School.

Louise's family was the most important part of her life. She loved the outdoors, along with being a very accomplished quilt maker. She won several ribbons with her beautiful hand-sewn quilts.

Louise was a homemaker who helped her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, cooking, canning, and helped care for their sheep, and entering things in the fair.

She was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church for 25 + years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Savage, Sr.; her parents, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Surviving are a son, Thomas Savage of Wooster; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Marvin) Webb of Texas; a grandson, Warren (Syd) Savage of California, John of Pennsylvania, Brian of Texas, Greg and his wife of Texas; seven great-grandchildren.

Louise will be deeply missed by all of her caregivers and her loved ones, and a special one, Jackie Rice who was like a daughter to Louise and Louise was like a mother to her.

Friends will be received Monday, February 24, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-242-2311) where services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. with Pastor R. Paul Schafer officiating.

Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.
