WILSON, John Brown IV, 74, of Wheeling passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born August 14, 1939, in Wheeling, son of the late Lucius and Florence Wilson.
John was Director of Ohio Valley Junior Golf Academy, retired Lt. Col United States Army where he was a two-time Bronze Medal recipient, assistant director of Wheeling Park Commission, former Ohio County School Teacher and Coach, and Superintendent of Randolph County Schools. In addition to his many accomplishments, he was also a published author and composer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luke and Ryland Wilson; a daughter, Kasey Rebecca Wilson; and a grandson, Austin Prager.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Fox Wilson; two daughters, Kelly Delaney and Keri Wilson, both of Wheeling; a son, Kurt Wilson of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Korey Recinella, Shayne Wilson, Kyile Wilson, Garrett Wilson, Raegyn Griffith and Colton Wilson; two sisters, Rebecca Rankin (Larry) and Christy Campbell (Tom); and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311), where a service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at noon with Phil Bliss officiating. Interment and military honors will be held at a later date.
